TL;DR: D&D's 2026 line-up runs on a new Seasons model: Ravenloft: The Horrors Within ($59.99) in June for the Season of Horror, then the Arcana Unleashed sourcebook ($49.99) and the Deadfall adventure ($29.99) in September for the Season of Magic, with an unannounced fourth book in winter. Everything uses the 2024 rules. Here's the full calendar and what each book means for your table.

If you’re planning a campaign year, you need the release calendar in one place rather than scattered across announcement posts. This is the confirmed 2026 schedule, organised by season, with prices and a DM’s-eye note on each book. Where something isn’t confirmed, it’s flagged as such — no guessing.

The Seasons model, briefly

The headline change for 2026 isn’t a single book — it’s how books ship. Wizards of the Coast moved to a Seasons approach, grouping each major release with coordinated accessories and organised-play initiatives instead of releasing products standalone. For you, that means each tentpole comes with a wave of supporting material, and the year reads as two connected arcs rather than a list of unrelated hardcovers. We unpack the model in detail in what are D&D’s 2026 Seasons.

Season of Horror — Summer

Ravenloft: The Horrors Within — June, $59.99

The year opens with horror. Ravenloft: The Horrors Within adds horror-oriented subclasses, species, and backgrounds, a set of Dark Gift feats, and a deeper treatment of the Darklords and their domains, plus guidance for running gothic, dark-fantasy, cosmic, and occult subgenres. It’s both a toolkit and a setting book, which makes it unusually flexible — you can lift the horror tools into any campaign without committing to the full domains of dread.

If you’re prepping it, we have a dedicated Ravenloft: The Horrors Within prep guide and a breakdown of the new Dark Gifts mechanic.

Season of Magic — Autumn

Arcana Unleashed — September, $49.99

The autumn theme shifts to high magic. Arcana Unleashed is pitched as the ultimate guide for magic-focused play, with high-magic character creation options and a new approach to magic items that grow in power alongside your character. For DMs, the growing-items idea is the one to watch — it changes how you pace rewards across a campaign. Our Arcana Unleashed preview covers what’s confirmed versus speculated.

Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall — September, $29.99

Releasing alongside the sourcebook, Deadfall is an adventure built around the Red Wizards of Thay and a new Wizard War. The level range wasn’t confirmed at the time of writing. It’s the season’s playable centrepiece — the sandbox for everything Arcana Unleashed hands your casters. See our Deadfall preview for the full picture.

Winter — To be announced

The roadmap showed a fourth book in the winter slot, but its title and contents were to be announced at the time of writing. Anything you read about it beyond “it exists and it’s coming” is speculation until Wizards confirms it.

Planning your table’s year around it

Two new books arriving in the same September is the crunch point. If you want to run the Season of Magic as intended, budget for both the sourcebook and the adventure, and give yourself a few weeks to read before session one.

Whatever you run, two table problems repeat across every 2026 book: more new rules to look up, and more locations to put under your players’ eyes. New subclasses, new spells, and new conditions all mean mid-turn lookups, and the single fastest fix is having the relevant rules text physically in front of the player who needs it.

For the rest of your prep, our free DM tools cover the jobs each new book adds — an encounter builder for the new monsters, an initiative tracker for bigger fights, and a condition reference for the rules that changed in 2024. Bookmark this page; we’ll update it as the winter book and the digital prices are confirmed.
